| New Houses Built for Havebury Housing Partnership Ltd |

New Homes for Havebury
Havebury Housing Partnership has been given a grant of £2.37m to build 91 new homes. The homes include a mixture of houses and flats. Sixty-seven will be built in Bury St. Edmunds and 24 in the village of Stanningfield. This is part of a 500 home programme which Havebury is building over the next 5 years. Most of the new homes will be for rent, with a small number available under a shared ownership scheme.

Since the 7th July 2008, the Havebury Housing Partnership has been operating the "Promoting Independence for Older People" pilot, within the St Edmundsbury Borough Council area.
A recent study has identified an increasing elderly population within our community, with many residents having to consider moving into sheltered accommodation or care facilities due to their inability to manage or maintain the homes where they currently live.

In the last few weeks Havebury Housing Partnership have installed some innovative eco friendly heating systems.
The first is an air source heat pump at a property in Great Saxham. The unit is fitted outside the dwelling and extracts heat from the air to heat water in the radiator system. Although electricity is used to run the system the heat energy released can be up to 4 times the energy required to power the equipment.
